These days 

I'm running down a path

Stopping to sit among the wildflowers of patience

Hiking up mountains of perseverance

Digging deep in wells of vulnerability

Sometimes I remember back to when out paths

Ran parallel to each other

Were attached to one another

Sometimes I wonder

Where is your path taking you?

Is it twisting and turning?

Creeping up or descending down?

Are our paths winding to meet back up?

Or traveling further away until

We no longer even get glances of one another?

I'm going to keep journeying

But instead of sprinting

In hopes of answering these questions

I'm going to stop and smell those wildflowers

Knowing I may never pass by this bunch again.

In the heart of the forest, where shadows play,

A symphony of colors greets the day.

Sunbeams dance on leaves of emerald green,

A sight to be felt, to be heard, to be seen.

A tiny squirrel, with a coat so bright,

Scampers up a tree, quick as light,

Chasing the whispers of the morning wind,

A ballet of life, gracefully pinned.

Beneath the blanket of the sky so wide,

A river flows with time by its side,

Mirroring the sparkle of the day's first light,

A ribbon of silver in the soft morning sight.

High in the trees, birds start to sing,

A melody that makes the forest ring,

Each note a story, each trill a tale,

Carried through the woods, on the breeze's trail.

Flowers bloom, in hues of a rainbow,

Swaying gently, in the sun's warm glow.

Petals of velvet, in a fragrant bloom,

A silent cheer, as life resumes.

Bumblebees hum, in a rhythm so sweet,
