Send in the Clowns....

 Send in the Clowns

Stephen Sondheim

Isn't it rich?

Are we a pair?

Me here at last on the ground

You in mid-air

Send in the clowns

Isn't it bliss?

Don't you approve?

One who keeps tearing around

One who can't move

Where are the clowns?

Send in the clowns

Just when I'd stopped opening doors

Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours

Making my entrance again with my usual flair

Sure of my lines

No one is there

Don't you love farce?

My fault, I fear

I thought that you'd want what I want

Sorry, my dear

But where are the clowns?

Quick, send in the clowns

Don't bothеr, they're herе

Isn't it rich?

Isn't it queer?

Losing my timing this late

In my career?

And where are the clowns?

There ought to be clowns

Well, maybe next year...

The Sea Princess comes ashore....

                                                     “The Poet and the Mermaid”

Emerging from the blue waves

A cheerful and mysterious deity,

With fresh pink lips

And an enchanting ivory breast.

Her splendid raven hair

Locks on her alabaster shoulders

Her eyes have the glow of a star

And the flashing fire of love.

Siren's Call....

 Siren Call

I see the moon shining bright,

it lights the dark blue skies

and as it sinks to flee the sun

we hear the Siren cries.

The moss green rocks,

glisten, glow, shine an emerald ore

The ocean waves, the sirens hide

on the cold sand floor

A day goes by, the Moon is back

and with it comes the tide

The Sirens sing a sickly song

as they no longer have to hide.

The waves above them thrash with rage,

but Sirens feel no fear

They spy troubled ships above

and sailors to lend an ear.

The mossy rocks, the Sirens mount

to harmonise as one,

little do they realise

the worst is yet to come.

La la la the Sirens call,

the sailors can't ignore,

a ship of fools to add their souls

to the endless ocean floor.

The Siren songs tell a tale

of misery and woe,

"I'm lonely, so lonely oh Sailor,

please take my heart let's go.

Alas I'm left here Sailor,

you leave me here to cry

my melody gets sadder,

with each ship that passes by,

why don't you love me Sailor,

please say that you'll come back,

to rescue me from darkness,

darkness cold and black.

All I ask dear Sailor,

is for someone to adore

so please rescue me dear Sailor

from this ocean floor"

The Moon slinks away again,

the Sun comes out to play

the Sirens' sadness weighs them down

no sailors here to stay.

Each night the sirens climb the rocks

and sing their tale of woe

thinking sailors ignore their pleas,

while to the ocean floor they go.

In the Garden She Waits....

 in the garden she waits,

the breeze gently blowing

the loose tendrils of her hair,

the lantern light dances and glints

over the jewels she wears,

she waits in anticipation for the

gentlemen who has stolen her heart,

hoping against hope he will be here

soon to take her away to a new life....

Mother Nature's Kiss.....

Mother Nature

Even on cloudy days, she is beautiful.

Full of life and color

Always moving forward,

Never letting anything get in her way.

She is more beautiful on the bad days.

When the sky is dark and looming,

She can still bring light and life.

She can make you feel safe.

With her songs in the trees, in the water, and in the wind that brushes against your cheeks

She is beautiful.
