Salome's Dance

In the silent shame
A veil has fallen
A dead dance of the dead for death
She has danced.

Eros screamed from beneath the dark veil,
The body screamed, of maddened desires,
Rhythm of ghastly pagans whirled
In the whirlpool of the veils
A head's been taken off by the dance.

Let eyes extinguish,
Let lips be silent,
And let senses disregard the time,
Centuries pass
Through you, through me,
Playing with deceptions of the lunar phase.

At the end of the dance
Is there anything that remains,

Is there anything that remains,
Apart from the execution place.
