Always the Bridesmaid Never the Bride......

Why am I always the bridesmaid

Never the blushing bride

Ding dong, wedding bells

Only ring for other girls

One fine day

Oh let it be soon

I shall wake up in the morning on my own honeymoon.

Hawaiian Holiday!!

The golden sun wakes up the sea,

A gentle breeze calls out to me.

Where palm trees sway and waters glow,

And vibrant, sweet hibiscus grow.

The rhythmic waves caress the sand,

A tranquil magic spans the land.

As twilight paints the ocean skies,

With tangerine and violet dyes.

The starry night, the balmy air,

Leave all of life's concerns elsewhere.

In island time, we softly rest,

Aloha to the very best.

Chillin' at the Beach...

 Golden sun and salty air,

Waving goodbye to every care.

Toes in the sand, a cooling breeze,

Whispering through the palm trees.

Crashing waves provide the beat,

As warm sunshine soaks my feet.

Time slows down beneath the blue,

Nothing else I’d rather do.

Dark Fae.....

 The Dark Fairy

She glides with undulating grace

letting her hands skim over the tombstone,

long dark hair shrouding her face,

black wings beating in a stately drone.

Gazing over the serene landscape,

a soft smile skims over her lips

as the night sky begins to drape

the graves with twilight’s grips.

Thus she guards these sleeping dead

against marauders, diggers, and hairy

monsters who gasp with dread

as she appears, The Dark Fairy.

Once Upon a time there were four little rabbits.....

ONCE upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter Rabbit. They lived with their Mother in a sandbank, underneath the root of a very big fir tree.

"Now, my dears," said old Mrs. Rabbit, one morning, "you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden.

Waiting on My Muse.....

 Waiting for Inspiration to Call

With nothing left to lose except my fragile mind.

I wrestle with the fate and fortune of human kind.

Dark shadows rise to meet me on their way to the unknown.

Leaving me in my shuttered room alone.

A somber moon pushes through the clouds.

Whispered voices now speak to me out loud.

Memories like shadows line the wall.

Giving substance to the expressions left wandering in the hall.

A poet lies dreaming waiting for inspiration to call.

A poet waiting for inspiration to arrive. © Feb '22, Stephan V. Mastison
