Oggie Boogie's Place..........

 Oogie Boogie's Song

Song by Ed Ivory and Ken Page

Well, well, well, what have we here?

Sandy Claws, huh?

Ooh, I'm really scared

So, you're the one everybody's talkin' about?

You're joking, you're joking

I can't believe my eyes

You're joking me, you gotta be

This can't be the right guy

He's ancient, he's ugly

I don't know which is worse

I might just split a seam now

If I don't die laughing first

When Mr. Oogie Boogie says

There's trouble close at hand

You'd better pay attention, now

'Cause I'm the Boogie Man

And if you aren't shaking

There's something very wrong

'Cause this may be the last time you hear the Boogie song, oh (wow)

Oh (wow)

Oh (oh, he's the Oogie Boogie Man)

Well, if I'm feelin' ansty

And I've nothin' much to do

I might just cook a special batch

Of snake and spider stew

And don't ya know the one thing

That would make it work so nice?

A roly-poly Sandy Claws to add a little spice (oh)

Oh (oh)

Oh (oh)

Oh yeah, I'm the Boogie Man (oh yeah, he's the Boogie Man)

Release me now

Or you must face the dire consequences

The children are expecting me

So please, come to your senses

You're joking, you're joking

I can't believe my ears

Would someone shut this fella up?

I'm drowning in my tears

It's funny, I'm laughing

You really are too much

And now, with your permission

I'm going to do my stuff

Well, what are you going to do?

I'm going to do the best I can

Oh, the sound of rolling dice

To me is music in the air

'Cause I'm a gamblin' Boogie Man

Although I don't play fair

It's much more fun, I must confess

When lives are on the line

Not mine, of course

But yours, oh boy

Now that'd be just fine

Release me fast, or you'll have to answer for this heinous act

Oh brother, you're something

You put me in a spin

You aren't comprehending

The position that you're in

It's hopeless, you're finished

You haven't got prayer

'Cause I'm Mr. Oogie Boogie

And you ain't going nowhere

Lessons from a Mermaid

Let the current
carry you.

Not all stars
live in the sky.

Things aren't
always as they appear
on the surface.

Storms may rage but
there always a calm
place deep with in you...

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade...

Monsieur Andre! Monsieur Firmin!
Dear Andre, what a splendid party
The prelude to a bright new year
Quite a night, I'm impressed

Well, one does one's best
Here's to us
The toast for the city
What a pity that the Phantom can't be here

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade
Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you
Masquerade! Every face a different shade
Masquerade! Look around, there's another mask behind you

Flash of mauve, splash of puce
Fool and king, ghoul and goose
Green and black, queen and priest
Trace of rouge, face of beast, faces

Take your turn, take a ride
On the merry-go-round in an inhuman race
Eye of gold, true is false
Who is who?

Curl of lip, swirl of gown
Ace of hearts, face of clown, faces
Drink it in, drink it up till you've drowned
In the light, in the sound but who can name the face?

Masquerade! Grinning yellows, spinning reds
Masquerade! Take your fill, let the spectacle astound you
Masquerade! Burning glances, turning heads
Masquerade! Stop and stare at the sea of smiles around you

Masquerade! Seething shadows breathing lies
Masquerade! You can fool any friend who ever knew you
Masquerade! Leering satyrs, peering eyes
Masquerade! Run and hide, but a face will still pursue you

What a night! What a crowd!
Makes you glad
Makes you proud
All the crème, de la crème

Watching us, watching them
All our fears are in the past
Three months of relief
Of delight, of Elysian peace

And we can breathe at last
No more notes, no more ghost
Here's a health, here's a toast
To a prosperous year

To our friends who are here
And may the splendor never fade
What a blessed release
And what a masquerade

Think of it, a secret engagement
Look, your future bride, just think of it
But, why is it secret? What have we to hide?
You promised me, no, Raoul, please don't, they'll see
Well then let them see, it's an engagement, not a crime

Christine, what are you afraid of?
Let's not argue
(Let's not argue)
Please pretend
(I can only hope)
You will understand in time
(I'll understand in time)
