 Life As A Dance

Life is a dance of body and mind.

Rise is balanced by fall.

We try to swirl in harmony,

one with the music we hear.

It is the music that guides our movements

as we try to interpret the story it tells.

We are all dancing to the same melody

though we may hear its accents differently.

We create our own choreography

based on  how we hear the music’s notes.

Our steps will vary widely but still

we try to avoid collisions with others.

The steps we create are unique to each of us.

Mind may try to supervise every move

but body must be set free at times

to dance rhythms it alone recognizes.

In the moments that mind and body

allow each other enough freedom,

we dance the best dance we are capable of.

In the effort of trying to dance,

we face our fears and live.
