This Round has surpassed all my expectations but lets face it they all do lol.I can not get over how many gorgeous items there are!Phantom of the Opera is a Favorite of mine so maybe I am a bit Biased.But if you have not been to the event yet you need to!It runs the Dec 7th so you have plenty of time!Hope to see you there!

Briar Rose finds out she is Princess Aurora...

 

 

As a peasant, she wears a black bodice over a gray long-sleeved calf-length frock with a white petticoat and goes barefoot. She wears a black headband and carries a purple shawl when going out.

As her princess self, she wears a pink or blue ball gown with a petal overskirt, a ruffled white petticoat, and long triangular sleeves, a golden tiara, and blue or pink shoes. During the original film, Aurora's ball gown is blue as seen when Flora and Merryweather fight for the colors of her ball gown either in pink or blue, even at the end of the film where Aurora dances with Prince Phillip in a ballroom dance. But in later appearances and merchandise, Aurora's ball gown is depicted as pink.

The Grateful Fox

Once a group of children caught a young fox which they bound with ropes. They were carrying the frightened animal to the village to sell for fur when they ran into a young man who offered them some money for the fox. The young man’s friend laughed at him for wanting the animal but he laughed even harder when he found out that his friend had purchased the fox simply so he could set it free.
The fox ran off and rejoined his parents who had been watching what had happened from afar and were both overjoyed and grateful to the young man.
For a long time afterwards no one thought much of what had happened and the man who’d freed the fox moved to a distant city. The man grew ill and the doctors said that his life could only be saved with a fox’s liver, but none of his friends were able to help him obtain one. A letter was sent out requesting that a fox’s liver be sent. A while later a well dressed, very polite but sad man came with a fresh fox’s liver.
The patient was immediately treated and soon was well again. He believed of course that a friend from the small town had sent the remedy and was therefore surprised to receive a letter starting that there was a shortage of foxes and so his friend had been unable to buy a liver. The man then remembered his earlier encounter with the foxes and realized that they must be his benefactors. He didn’t know for certain however until he moved back to his previous home where he once again saw the fox. He called out the animal which came to him. The fox came to him and reported that he and his wife had learned of his illness, and so they had sacrificed one of their sons to keep him alive. The man was deeply touched and thanked the fox with tears in his eyes. He promise that he would donate a beautiful fox portrait at the temple of the kam Inari according to the ancient custom in which pictures of foxes line the temple entrances.

Hansel and Gretel
ah, so young
in the forest
having fun
picking berries
from the brush
tasting each
not in a rush

Deeper, deeper
both do go
deep in forest
they should know
not to do
what they have done
now shadows grow . . .
the night will come

Suddenly lost
no path but trees
Gretel falls
upon her knees
“Hansel, what will we do now?
“I fear we’re lost
“I don’t know how”

Then a clearing
begins to grow
a joyous light
a wondrous glow
coming closer
what to see?
a candy cottage
How can that be?

Out of nowhere
an old woman there
invites them in
they have no care
gives them lots of things to eat
suddenly
they fall asleep

Wake to find them
in a cage
no escape
and quite afraid
the old woman now
a witch, you see
feeds them daily
just candy

Gretel is now
made a slave
does witches bidding
while always chained
while Hansel is kept
within the cage
getting fatter
his life unmade

Each day the witch
checks Hansel out
feels his finger
getting stout
waiting for the fat to grow
then she’ll cook him
really slow

Hansel knows
the witch can’t see
her eyesight is bad
as it can be
so he tricks her
with a bone
“It’s way too lean”
the witch does moan

But after days
and days go by
her hunger grows
and that’s no lie
she heats the oven
very hot
so she can cook them
on the spot

But Gretel senses
what will come
she must act now
she cannot run
the oven’s burning
ah, so hot
the witch tells Gretel
to check the slot

“Go open the door”
“See if the embers are red”
“I’ll bake a pie”
That’s what she said
But in her mind
the witch does know
that when Gretel opens the oven
her foot will go
and push Gretel in
and cook her good
a tasty child
cooked over wood

But Gretel fakes
she does not know
how to open the oven
fast or slow
and the witch
who’d take her life
bends to show her
while she holds a knife

And Gretel sees
what she has planned
pushes evil witch in
and lets her land
inside the oven
then locks its door
the witch is burned
and is no more

Gretel then releases Hansel
they both are saved
and leave the cottage
no longer slaves
and make it back
to whence they came
Yes . . .
