 Out of the Darkness

Leather wrapped

feet  bound with

frayed straps

of brown and tan

softly creep

through caverns

bathed in wafting

waves of shimmering

green light.

Cold rain

crisply patters

on the cool slate

of marbled grey,

dripping toward

the cave's mouth.

Violet eyes

light up in the

moss riddled shadows,

scanning the sky

for uniform

cloud coverage.

The drow elf

ventures into

the spruce cover

rainy afternoon,

dry skin savors

the wet caress

of October's downpour.
